Tomato Update

Tomato Update

Here is a small update…i will post a more detailed one next week.

This is my stupice…yesterday part of it wilted and I suspected fusarium or verticillium wilt. I watered it thoroughly and today it has recovered…I hope it was just an issue of it being too hot because it has alot of fruit on it (see pic underneath)
Pics of my stupice tomato truss. I have about 4 more trusses like this on the little plant.

My Oaxacan jewel is a really stubby, short plant but is a pretty good producer so far.

This is the Black Krim.

Marvel Striped is a HUGE plant and quite a producer. There are probably a dozen tomatoes already with a bunch of new blossoms.

  1. Tammy,

I also saw your post on Garden Web regarding Marvel Stripe and how many fruit it has set. Amazing. I'm always on the lookout for seeds from a particularly productive heirloom tomato.

If you would be so kind, please allow me to offer my email address and ask if you want to trade seeds this fall. I have hundreds of varieties and dozens that are exceptional heirlooms and open pollinated tomatoes.

I will be away for a week or so, but will check my email when I return. If you have left me a message, I will respond with a seed list that I think will include several tomatoes you would find interesting.

  2. hey tomatohead48,

i would love to send some seeds to you. This is my first year gardening so I am not sure how good I will be at saving seeds but trudi_d sent me some easy to follow instructions.

i will send you an email as well.
