Last thursday I went out to check on my melons and found this one had split. Boo…i had watered them lightly the day before and now know not do do that again. You would think I would have learned my lesson from the split charentais I had 1.5 weeks ago.
I was a little bummed [...]
Here is my charentais in the cinderblock garden. I have eaten one melon off this plant and it was delicious and have 4 left. The honey orange melon that was to the left of the charentais has been pulled out because I picked and ate the last melon on it yesterday (I will post pics).

I picked my first charentais melon yesterday. I went to the garden to check on it and it split at the bottom. I was a little bummed because this is the melon I was waiting to eat. Luckily there are 4 more melons on the same vine and the other charentais vine has another 4 [...]
I picked my first ripe melon today. It was an arava melon. It probably could have stayed on the vine a day or 2 longer but when i picked it up it slipped from the vine. It started turning yellow a few days ago so it ripened pretty quickly once the color change started.
Unfortunately we [...]

Here is my charentais in the cinderblock garden. This one is now the size of a softball so I do not expect it to get much larger. I have 2 melons on this plant and hopefully they will ripen soon.
These Arava melons are also in my cinderblock [...]
Look how fast the orange honeydews are growing. I have 3 melons that are bigger than grapefruit size. There are some smaller melons that look like they have fruitset but we’ll see if they survive this heatwave we are having.
It has been 1 week since I posted that I found some small little melons on the vine. Here is the last melon post for reference.

I cannot believe how quickly these melons grow. Every day you can see tremendous growth.
Here is the honey orange. It can barely fit in my [...]
I asked my husband to put down some cardboard as sort of a mulch so my melons would not have to ripen on the hard, dirty, clay soil and look what we found. They seemed to have come out of nowhere as we just started having female blossoms.
Here are some pics of my little [...]
Here are 2 of 6 melon plants that I have. They were really slow growing when the weather was cooler but now that it is starting to warm up, I can see alot of growth every day. Day time temps have been in high 70′s, nighttime temps mid-50′s.
This is my honey orange. It is [...]
