Shaded herb garden

Shaded herb garden

I wanted to plant some herbs and greens outside my kitchen for easier access so my wonderful husband built me this. It has been quite warm with temperatures in the 80-90’s and sunny so we had to figure out a way to germinate the seeds since these do better in cooler temperatures so we planted the seeds in the box and put some cardboard over the box to keep it shaded and moist for 1 week. Within 4 days we saw the first signs of germination.

After a week we took off the cardboard and my husband put some burlap to protect the seedlings from the harsh sun.

I am growing (from top left corner clockwise): garlic chives, spinach, cilantro, mesculan mix, basil)
